Tutoring

Golden Gate Tutors provides a personalized service to K-12 students who want to gain an edge in a highly competitive academic environment. Typically tutoring is done one-on-one but study groups of up to five students can be accomodated at a discount from the one-on-one hourly rate.

Tutoring services include:

An initial meeting with the student and family. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the goals and expectations of your customized program

Meeting one-on-one with student in the family home or at school after dismissal focusing on the "trouble" areas of study

GGT tutors are available and qualified to tutor in all subjects. Our tutors hold at a minimum a Master’s Degree and / or California teaching credential in their area of expertize

Progress reports and periodic “check ins” with teachers to discuss areas that need immediate attention

Learning resources and tips listed on our web site which will give students and parents study tips and links to learning resources on the web. This is updated on a weekly basis

Test Preparation

Golden Gate Tutors provides test preparation for graduating high school and middle school students. We provide test instruction for:

ERB
SSAT / ISEE
PSAT
SAT
ACT
TOEFL
Essay writing

Study Skills

It has been our experience that while some students appear to understand the subject matter, they struggle with other areas of their lives. The “study skills” service will help build skills in the following areas:

Time management
Life Organization
Writing skills
Reading tips and tricks
Effective and dynamic note taking

Family Resources

GGT is able to provide a network of family resources to its clients. GGT can refer families to appropriate experts for help. We have marriage and family therapists, learning specialists, and family lawyers who are available to assist families with a particular need.
